Simon spent eight weeks in the summer of 2009 driving across the United States in search of images. He says, ” I traversed 10,157.5 miles in total looking for photographs. What I found was myself. Lisa Eisner has recently turned her eyes toward nature, resulting in a colorful kaleidoscope of assembled images. These images will be featured in an upcoming show at M+B Gallery. The show is titled Psychonaut, a Greek inspired word for ‘a sailor of the mind/soul’.

She photographed iconic buildings and objects in each city, then digitally removed them from their surroundings and applied color to convey a different context and point of view. Jordan Matter’s “Dancers Among Us” features members of prominent New York City dance companies. This is an ongoing project that began in the Spring of 2009. There were no trampolines or other devices used for these images, just thousands of hours of training.
